Living in Ireland in the winter you can be forgiven for thinking the place is just dark, grey, and wet.  It’s also windy!  Even in the depths of winter there is amazing colour to be found if you take the time to notice.

The above image was taken last year in Lough Dan in the heart of the Wicklow mountains.  The colours are from the Silver Birch tree, the heather, bracken, and deep green moss on the rocks.  The post processing was minimal, local contrast defog, and a couple of curve adjustments to make the colours pop.
