Playa Maro Sunset

/

This evening I returned to the same beach we enjoyed earlier today to see if the light on the headland held up to it’s earlier promise.  When I arrived this time,  the shadow from the cliff to the west was already half way down the beach, so I did not hang around at the car park, but headed straight for the spot I had found in the morning.  The shot I had in mind involved slow shutter speed to smooth out the water completely, and this worked quite well.

The light was still not intense enough from the setting sun, but I was happy with the first image.  As the sun set behind the cliffs, the rock glowed orange more intensely, but the foreground grew dark.  So I made the decision to move in front the the rocks to a tiny beach in the corner before the cliff to make my final composition.
