I’ve sometimes been asked, tongue and cheek, why all my images are of female models.  My simple answer is that is my preference.  Nothing against guys, but I love the beauty of the female form.  It’s also seldom I have the opportunity to work with male models, but this year I have had the opportunity twice to work with Tillie Feather and Leon Lift as a duet.  The latest was last week in my studio.  It was also the same week I prepared for a 4 day Art exhibition in Dublin, so I had more going on than usual and have been slower to get to editing the images.  So this is a brief selection of what I’ve worked on so far.

I’ve spent some time this year trying to learn more portraiture styles and subscribed to Sue Bryce education to expand my techniques and repertoire.  This investment has been well worth it, not just for portraiture but also the many videos on sales and marketing etc. I have put to good use this week and in all my planning for the exhibition.  Hopefully this will bare fruit in the coming weeks and months…

This first image is based off the techniques demonstrated by Felix Kunze from the Portrait Masters series hosted by Sue Bryce.  1.5m Octabox behind the backdrop, 8′ x 4′ reflector in front of the models.

In the next set Leon was lit with a strip light soft box overhead.

My Art Nude duet set was lit with one elinchrom light to right of image and a 8′ x 4′ reflector to the left.
