Turbary Woods, Owl and Bird Sanctuary

We came across the Turbary Sanctuary today and paid a visit between rain showers to see if we could meet the resident birds of prey. We just missed the flying display but got the spend some time with the birds and their handlers and even one new owner of a young African Spotted Eagle Owl.

We were even privileged enough to witness the young owls maiden flight, although capturing it was not in my gift (I’m not a Nature photographer:-) ) Still worth recording the moment below…

There were many other owls and even a very tame 1 year old raven in the Sanctuary. By the time we left I really wanted to take one of the birds home, maybe next time:-)
