I’ve been waiting a while to have my first shoot with Ayla Rose. It was worth the wait!
Having access to both studio and nearby locations is very useful in unpredictable Irish weather. My plans had to be flipped from morning to afternoon to make sure we got time in studio and time on location.
There’s an Alexander McQueen image with light printed shiffon/slik like material that keeps popping into my head to reproduce. I haven’t managed it to date but I keep playing with light material to see how to make it work. A fan, a tripod, and timed shots let me act as assistant to create some interesting images in the morning…
After lunch the outside temperature was better and the rain had stopped, so we made for the cliffs to try some location work. A little cave gave beautiful light, shelter from the wind and some nice backdrops for some amazing posses by Ayla.
Back to studio for a last few sets and Ayla was keen to see how I setup my dappled lighting effect (trade secret)
Ayla Rose was such a delight to work with, a full day of creative collaboration that really flew by. Hope you enjoy the images as much I I did making them!
